It all started 10 years ago when a friend named Dani asked the founders, “You’re creative inventors, right? Can you invent something to help my mother stand up from her couch and sit back down easily and safely?” So, they built a product to help Dani’s mom and other elderly people who had trouble standing up and sitting down. It took much longer than they thought. They had to invent almost every part from scratch because they couldn’t find an air pump quiet enough, air pipes soft enough to sit on while pumping, or a fabric that was flexible yet stiff, but not slippery, that would look good in any home, or at an outside venue.

10 years later, after more than 60,000 hours and 200 samples and prototypes, they launched the SitnStand Portable Smart Rising Seat exclusively on Amazon UK.

After 15 months of trial and test in the UK, with increasing sales and excellent customer reviews, the partners felt that they were ready to introduce the product to a wider audience in the international market. As they didn’t have the background or experience in marketing and sales, they turned to Cerato Global Consulting to take on the business development role, with a mandate to penetrate the US & UK markets via a network of retailers and resellers. Within a period of six months, Cerato has succeeded in executing agreements with leading national resellers in US, UK, Australia, Sweden, Ireland and Singapore. To date, 13 regional and national partners in the US, 6 large care providers in the UK, and several others in the other countries are actively distributing the product. More than 1,500 units have already been sold to end customers, changing their lives forever by giving them total independence of family members and in-home carers.
